Main aims FEULAT 2006
- Provide a space of encounter, exchange and joint reflection between
young people from Latin America and Europe;
- Generate debate and interaction with key actors and institutions
involved in youth policy in the Euro – Latin American agenda
- Strengthen co-operation between European and Latin American youth
organisation and regional platforms;
- Enhance a common working agenda on youth, involving all stakeholders
in the Euro-Latin American frame.
Specific objectives and expected outcomes
1. to get to know and understand the development process of global
youth in the last decades identifying main key moments, actors,
issues and documents in such processes;
2. to put this complex process into context, relating it to the
participants’ specific realities and working environments;
3. to explore in depth the recent developments on global youth policies
and define common strategies in terms of:
non-formal education
youth rights and their protection
full and effective participation of young people;
4. to confront participants’ concerns, needs and expectations on these
three areas with those of the other institutional stakeholders at
global and regional level; to define common positions on those fields
and concrete guidelines for action in a Euro-Latin American context;
5. to provide a space for dialogue, mutual learning and networking,
enhancing future youth co-operation;
6. to identify sustainable strategies and lines for action to materialize
the projects based in results of FEULAT process;
7. to involve and commit participants in the development and
continuation of the FEULAT process (political and thematic
dimensions.).
